Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V)

To help improve the health of their IT projects, more and more organizations and projects teams are making use of IV&V services. IV&V is performed by an entity independent of the IT project that performs an assessment of various aspects of the project:

   Assessing procurement approach
   Reviewing system requirements for completeness
   Evaluating IT vendor project plans
   Reviewing project management and SDLC practices

   Reviewing and assessing project deliverables
   Assessing system technical feasibility
   Performing system testing and quality assurance
   Assessing conformance to contract & project requirements
   Writing IV&V evaluation and recommendation reports

Using standards such as the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), and IEEE 1012, The Kerr Company has performed IV&V services for Federal and State government entities to help ensure that IT projects are conducted based on industry standards, and that clients receive the services and systems in the manner prescribed in IT development and management contracts.
